Realizing the importance of advanced courses, the Faculty of Computer Science was established in 1987 at LBS PG College. The Department aims to prepare the younger generation for facing the challenges of the globalized world. We adopt innovative ideas and methods to improve the quality of education. The Department also takes initiatives to improve the soft skills, analytical capabilities, and verbal communication of the students by conducting expert lectures, training programs, etc. It has well-equipped laboratories, computational facilities, well qualified teachers, and modern classrooms to meet the current educational and professional needs. The emphasis is laid on a proper understanding of the fundamentals of the subjects through various teaching-learning techniques.  The department is committed to advancing the state of the art in Computer Science, and to providing a challenging and exciting education for the students. Currently, the Department is offering graduate and postgraduate courses like BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) and M.Sc. (Information Technology).

In the era of digital technology, the benefits of taking a computer course are countless. Now one can’t imagine any profession without the knowledge of computers. The possibilities are almost limitless. BCA graduates have good employability opportunities in private and public sector both.  After BCA, students can go for the Masters in the same field, which is MCA. They can easily get a job as a Computer Programmer, Operator, Support Engineer (IT), Project Associate (IT), Database Administration, System Administrator, Software Developer, Computer Teacher or Lecturer, Cyber Crime Inspector, Tax Assistant. More than this, students who are willing to work under government organizations can apply for the recruitment process under several departments such as RRB, UPSC, Indian Navy, Indian Army, Banking, Insurance,and others.  Students can also work in various fields like Freelancing, DTP Works, Network Administration, Hardware Troubleshooting, Web Application Development, Programming, etc.  They can find ways to supplement their income by doing basic computer tasks for other people and companies. Or they can find a way to perform some or all of the tasks of their present job from their home computer.
