The journey of the Department of Arts began with the establishment of LBS PG College in 1963. We feel proud to mention here that it has flourished ever since and has proved its worth. In its history spanning over more than 50 years, it has produced many luminaries who have given their untiring services to the society and the nation at large. We work with an aim to inculcate quality education among the students by using innovative teaching-learning practices to explore the future prospects of our students. The department takes various initiatives to improve students’ caliber like remedial classes, mentorship programs, etc. It also offers an interactive and diverse range of lectures, seminars, workshops, etc.to promote a practical learning environment. In each of our programs, we work on multilevel approaches with a focus on professional development throughout. At LBS College, the Faculty of Arts offers B.A. Pass Course and M.A. (Geography, History, Political Science and English).
Career Opportunities:
The arts stream offers several innovative career options and opportunities to students. A graduate in an arts course is as competent as a professional degree. This stream is made up of parts like humanities, social studies, visual arts, performing arts, literary arts etc. Arts stream students may pursue UG as well as PG courses both. The scope of the art course is broad as it helps one in pursuing higher education. After B.A. students can go for Masters Degree M.A. and then can also take Ph.D. in their respective areas of interest. They can also go for B.Ed., LLB, M.Sc. (IT), MBA, and some other professional courses. They can get access to diverse job opportunities (depending upon the professional course). Some of the well-known job profiles are Management professional, Lawyer, Teacher, Artist (Musician, Dancer, Performer, Actor), Businessman, Economist, Architect, Politician, Bureaucrat, Diplomat, Government employee, Archaeologist, Civil Servant, Defense personnel, etc. The aspirants can prepare for competitive exams like UPSC and Civil Service.
