Commerce is the backbone of the economy of every nation in this world. At LBS College, Department of Commercewas formally set up as a separate entity in 1975 which has imbibed the LBS tradition of exploring new frontiers of knowledge and innovation in academics. It is segregated under three subjects as ABST, BADM & EAFM. The department is committed to keep pace with the changing requirement of commerce & trade. The rapid growth of the Department of Commerce is reflected in its expansion as well as innovation in its academic programs. It organizes remedial classes and interactive sessions with mentors to bridge the gap between students and the syllabus. The Department organizes different activities for the overall development of our students like seminars, workshops related to career enhancement & Financial Inclusion. The modern approach of teaching with technology is used to train students and to make them industry-ready. In our college, we offer B.Com Pass course and M. Com. in ABST & EAFM.
Career Opportunities:
As the most popular choice of the students in India, the Commerce stream offers them a wide arena of career options. Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) and Masters of Commerce (M.Com.) streams provide ample opportunities for students to opt-in reputed courses like CA, CS, CMA, MBA, Banking, Laws, and other fields. By completing professional courses like CA, CS, and CMA they can serve the industries as Legal Advisers, Audit Officers, Marketing Managers, Financial Managers, Strategic Managers, Operations Managers, and Human Resource Managers very well or they can do their own practices. After the implementation of GST, demand for CA professionals has drastically increased. In India, there are plenty of multinational companies (in various sectors such as software, IT, internet, finance, banking, oil, and gas, etc.) that hire commerce professionals. The students can be an Entrepreneur as this course covers each aspect of a business. This field is considered to be recession-proof also because, during the recession times, accountants were in great demand as companies were restructuring their budgets and needed accountants for completing the task.
Note : 1. Provision of scholarship for SC/ST candidates from the Government as per rules. 2. Book-Keeping is compulsory for students other than commerce stream.
